Skeletal structure

The conversation at work today turned towards the Winter Olympics, and specifically, the Skeleton, which, as a confirmed couch potato, I had no idea was anything other than what got ejected from your body if you did the luge improperly.

The main question is: who the hell first decided that this was a sport worth doing? “Let’s take the most dangerous winter sport imaginable, and do it face-first!” As the man said, it’s a tribute to the never-give-up and never-think-things-through spirit of our citizens.

In Hollywood, I believe they call it high-concept.

“I’ve got an idea! A high rate of speed, plus concrete!”

“I like!”

Jeff Pain, silver medallist: It's a great sport from 15 year olds to 65. 65?! Well, Duff Gibson is 39, the oldest Canadian Olympic medallist since a golfer in the early 1900s.
