And on it goes

It’s like picking at a scab.

The Boxing Day shooting that killed a Toronto teen occurred because one gang member knocked off a rival gang member’s hat, Toronto’s police chief says.

“Two rival groups came together over a relatively minor show of disrespect,” Chief Bill Blair told reporters yesterday.

Every once in a while a certain tragedy comes along that shakes you to the core, even though it might be nothing to do with you personally. Looks like the Boxing Day shooting is yours.

My parents had an acquaintance who lost his wife and daughter in a car crash last fall, and I just couldn’t stop thinking about them for the longest time. Bad dreams, too.

If we reacted to every tragedy this way of course, we couldn’t function. But if we never did, we wouldn’t be human. It’s a tough balance.

Glad to have you back in the blogosphere Cam.
