One day while I was staying with Owin and Irena, I got to playing imaginary indoor baseball with Maja, and she knocked the imaginary baseball out through the front window. So I thought it would be cute to play it like in that Bugs Bunny cartoon where the baseball goes all the way around the world, and I quickly ran Maja to the kitchen and helped her “catch” the baseball as it flew in through the back window. And then I helped her to throw it back, and then we ran back into the living room to catch it as it flew in through the front window, and then she threw it back and had me run back to the kitchen with her to catch it as it flew in through the back window, and then she threw it back and had me run back to the living room with her to catch it as it flew in through the front window, and then she threw it back… and had me run back to the kitchen with her… to catch it as it flew in through the back window… and then… she threw it back… and had me run… back to the living room with her… to catch it… as it flew in… through the front window… and then… she threw it back… and had me run… back to the kitchen… to catch it… and then… she threw it back… and had me run… to the living room… and then… she threw it back… and Cameron… has to… sit down… for… a… moment…
Probably should have remembered that before we held Saturday’s play date between Maja and my niece Kendra, when for some reason I thought it would be appropriate to show the dancing badgers to a pair of two-year-old girls. It was certainly a hit, and it was requested again, and again, sometimes before it had been turned off.
On the bright side, I got to leave before their parents started looking at me and sharpening things.
Anyway, another play date has been planned, since this one certainly seemed to go well:
