So I’m working on an episode of In Fashion this week, and there’s Karim Rashid, the designer who once stuck two rubber squeaky dog bones together into a cross shape and claimed that it represented the dog’s spirituality. Now, I’m sure he’s a nice guy once you get to know him. Okay, I’m not absolutely sure, but you know me — I’m Mister Optimistic, when I’m not spontaneously bursting into tears at my friends’ birthday parties. Anyway, he’s designed a new pre-fab house called “Kit 24,” which premiered at the 2006 Interior Design Show, and here’s a direct quote from the interview that appeared on this week’s show:

“The house is called KIT 24 because it’s designed with 24 panels lower, 24 panels above, 24 hours to assemble. And the idea is the second floor, ideally, would revolve. So if it rotates, it would do one revolve in 24 hours also. So the idea is also, then, every time you wake up, you have a different vista of wherever it’s placed.”

Yeah, unless you wake up at the same time every day, you moron.

Christ.
